Can Tourette’s syndrome heal itself without treatment?

Because of the long course of the disease, the symptoms are variable and easily influenced by the outside world, the symptoms are sometimes mild and sometimes severe, and when they are mild, they may not affect school and life, so parents think that there is no need for treatment and wait for adolescence to heal itself. In fact, this is not true. Although tic disorder has a tendency to heal itself, the rate of self-healing is extremely low, and it takes several years or even ten years from the onset to the end of adolescence, during which the condition changes in various ways, especially children with abnormal behavior cannot control their own activities and involuntarily do things that harm others and themselves. This will definitely affect the child’s schooling, employment and self-esteem, and will be extremely detrimental to the child’s entry into society as an adult.
