How the mass was expelled by conservative treatment of ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy can not be expelled by conservative treatment, mainly through drugs such as methotrexate to kill the embryo treatment after the embryonic activity disappears after the ectopic pregnancy mass shrivels up and becomes smaller or disappears.

Ectopic pregnancy conservative treatment of the main drug is the use of chemotherapy drugs methotrexate or traditional Chinese medicine to kill the embryo. The embryocidal drugs can accelerate the apoptosis of gestational trophoblast cells in the ectopic pregnancy sac, leading to the gradual shrinkage of the ectopic pregnancy mass, but the whole process of shrinkage to disappearance of the ectopic pregnancy mass can last 1-2 months.

During the conservative treatment of ectopic pregnancy, blood HCG level measurement and ultrasound are needed to detect the size of the ectopic pregnancy mass closely:

1. If the blood HCG level continues to drop significantly during the process of killing embryos by conservative treatment, even if the ectopic pregnancy mass does not shrink significantly within a short period of time by ultrasound, conservative treatment can be continued.

2. If during the process of killing embryos by conservative treatment, the blood HCG level does not decrease obviously or has rebound elevation, and the ectopic pregnancy mass gradually increases in ultrasound monitoring, it may be necessary to change to surgical treatment.
