Low blood pressure refers to diastolic blood pressure, and a diastolic blood pressure of 58 mm Hg is considered dangerous. The standard diastolic blood pressure for a normal adult is in the range of 60 mm Hg to 89 mm Hg. A current diastolic blood pressure of 58 mm Hg is below the standard threshold and is considered to be hypotensive. Low blood pressure usually results in dizziness, palpitations, limb weakness, and in severe cases, shock or fainting. A diastolic blood pressure of 58 mm Hg is therefore a dangerous situation. Hypotension should be examined first to see if there is a primary disease as a causative factor. If disease-induced hypotension is not ruled out, the patient’s hypotension will be alleviated after the primary disease is controlled. Dietary supplementation of more nutrients and blood volume can be considered, and overfeeding is not advisable. When the blood pressure is lower than normal value should go to a specialized hospital for consultation.
