Does diabetes heal on its own?

Primary diabetes usually does not heal on its own. However, secondary elevation of blood glucose due to other causes may return to normal levels on its own after the primary disease is cured. For example, temporary elevation of blood glucose due to hyperthyroidism or pancreatitis, high blood glucose can be cured by itself after the primary disease is controlled. When blood sugar is elevated, thyroid function and pancreatic function can be done to identify the cause of diabetes. type 1 diabetes is related to insufficient insulin secretion and requires lifelong treatment with insulin. type 2 diabetes is related to impaired insulin secretion or utilization and can be treated with metformin and other hypoglycemic drugs, and most patients also require lifelong medication.
