Although many infants and toddlers have not yet teething, this is also the time when good oral hygiene is needed to be able to avoid the dangers of various diseases. So, how to clean the mouth of infants and toddlers? 1, before teething cleaning time: after each feeding (1) prepare boiling water —- winter can use hot water, but note that the water temperature should not be too high. (2) Wet the gauze and wring it out. (3) Put the wet gauze loop on the index finger. (4) Use the wet gauze to clean the milk residue from the baby’s mouth. (5) When cleaning, pay special attention to the gums, tongue and other parts of the milk residue easily, but if you can’t wipe clean, you don’t have to use too much force, so as not to peel off the skin and cause the baby swallowing difficulties. 2, children after teething cleaning time: after each meal At the beginning, it is best to do in a relaxed environment, with games, so that children like to brush their teeth. 6 years old and above, parents can start to guide him to look in the mirror to learn to brush his teeth. The correct way to brush teeth is to keep the brush handle horizontal and place the bristles at a 45 degree angle at the junction of teeth and gums (you can massage the gums) to clean the food residue at the junction of teeth and gums. When brushing the upper row of teeth, the bristles face upward; while when brushing the lower row of teeth, the bristles face downward. 3. Oral care for infants and children Avoid chewing food and then feeding your baby. Bacteria from tooth decay can be transmitted to children through the saliva of caregivers (parents or babysitters). Therefore, caregivers of infants and toddlers should also do a good job of oral health care and avoid feeding the baby after chewing the food. 4, balanced diet Dental health requires a balanced and sufficient five types of nutrients, so from the time of adding complementary foods, children should develop the habit of eating more fiber foods, drinking more water and eating less sugary foods. In addition, it is also important to pay attention to the speed at which your child eats. Because children who have the habit of containing rice are especially prone to tooth decay, and it often happens in the interface that is not easy to be found, so the child should develop the habit of finishing the rice within a certain time. 5.Bedtime attention Avoid your baby sleeping with a bottle in his mouth or going to bed after drinking milk. Children sleeping with a bottle for a long time or sleeping after drinking milk before bedtime will cause their teeth to be immersed in an acidic environment for a long time, which over time will cause decalcification of milk teeth and thus lead to tooth decay, so it should be avoided. Starting from the age of one, take your child for a thorough oral examination once every three months to six months. Early detection and early treatment can reduce the occurrence of early caries in children, so the whole family should do oral examination once every six months.
