What’s a triad?

Triptych refers to every two normal sinus beats immediately followed by an early onset beat, called atrial tricyclic rhythm if atrial premature beats are present, or ventricular tricyclic rhythm if ventricular premature beats are present. The treatment of atrial or ventricular tachycardia is mainly aimed at the treatment of the underlying disease, such as correcting hypoxemia and controlling infections in patients with pulmonary disease. If it is caused by digitalis, digitalis should be immediately discontinued, and the electrolyte disorders that may accompany it should be corrected, especially to be alert to hypokalemia, and if necessary, lidocaine, β-blockers and propafenone should be used. For ventricular rate control, beta-blockers, non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers and digitalis can be used to slow down the ventricular rate.
