There are liver cancers that do not recur, only that liver cancer has a higher chance of recurrence compared with other tumors. At present, it is generally believed that the probability of liver cancer recurring five years after surgical resection is 40% to 70%, and liver cancer is a tumor with relatively high recurrence rate. There are many factors for liver cancer not to recur, including good living habits, effective control of underlying liver diseases and radical surgical resection of liver cancer lesions. After surgical resection or liver transplantation, one must regularly review liver ultrasound, tumor marker alpha-fetoprotein, and when necessary, CT and magnetic resonance and other imaging auxiliary examinations for postoperative evaluation. If any abnormality is found, one should be alert to the possibility of recurrence of liver cancer, and detect it as early as possible and treat it at the earliest possible time.
