PRK surgery, also called excimer laser refractive keratomileusis, is one of the first surgical methods used to treat myopia, and the cost of the procedure is currently around$5,000-6,000. The principle of the surgery refers to the use of a corneal lamellar knife, scraping the epithelium of the cornea and ablating the surface layer of the cornea with an excimer laser, through which the refractive state of the cornea is changed to achieve the purpose of correcting myopia. This type of surgery used to be more applied, but currently, with the popularity of femtosecond laser surgery application, not many are currently carried out. Compared with femtosecond laser surgery, this type of surgery is more traumatic, so the postoperative reaction is heavier and the recovery time is longer. If there is myopia in the eyes, it is recommended to choose femtosecond laser surgery.
