Can recurrence occur after cervical conization?

Whether recurrence will occur after cervical conization depends on the development of the disease, which is not good to generalize. Cervical conization is a common surgery in gynecology at present, which can not only confirm the diagnosis of the disease, but also achieve the role of removing the lesion for treatment. Generally, if the postoperative pathology suggests negative cervical margin, the probability of recurrence is generally small, but there is no guarantee that the residual cervix is free of lesions, but if the postoperative pathology suggests positive cervical margin, it generally indicates that the operation is not clean, which means that the disease will develop further or the probability of recurrence is high, and most of them need another operation or follow-up treatment. Therefore, the recurrence after cervical conization depends on the postoperative pathology results. Cervical conization is generally used for the treatment of women who have problems with cervical cancer screening, suggest more abnormal cells or suspect moderate to severe cervical precancerous lesions or cervical hypertrophy, and these women should also be closely reviewed for cervical HPV and TCT after surgery. If there is no problem in the first two years, the probability of recurrence will be greatly reduced. In conclusion, it is uncertain whether the recurrence after cervical conization is related to the progress of the disease itself, so it is also important to review and follow up closely after the operation.
