Recently, we have treated many cases of old ankle sprains. The common features of these cases are: the first sprain is not fixed (cast or brace), rest, and then the ankle joint continues to swell and hurt, and the symptoms may extend for several months or even half a year, or one or two years are not good. There are two problems here: 1. Early ankle sprains are not taken seriously by many people and are not fixed early; 2. If there is no fixed subsequent rehabilitation treatment, because there is no professional rehabilitator, but only limited to some topical and oral medications, such patients may be bounced between orthopedics, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and acupuncture. There are several mechanisms of old ankle ligament injuries: 1. The ligament is not completely healed, resulting in instability of the ankle joint and pain and swelling; 2. When the ankle joint is in the inversion or valgus position, the brain cannot produce a protective response, so the ankle joint can easily be sprained again; 3, the ligament is not fixed in the healing process, the quality of healing is poor, resulting in poor ankle strength; 4, the ligament is completely broken at the time of injury, and cannot heal at all. Ankle ligament injuries are relatively minor injuries in ankle sprains, and can be repaired by rehabilitation training or even by ligament reconstruction surgery, compared to the irrecoverable talar cartilage injuries. Rehabilitation of ankle ligament injuries requires professional rehabilitation counseling, but this type of rehabilitation treatment is basically blank in China at present, and even if there are professional physicians, there is no corresponding instructional fee program. The rehabilitation of ankle ligament injuries requires professional rehabilitation counseling, but this kind of rehabilitation treatment is basically blank in China at present, and even if there are professional physicians, there is no corresponding guidance charge program. Therefore, I myself, based on many years of experience, have worked out a set of training methods and tried them on a few patients with old ankle sprains, and the results are quite good, so I introduce them to you, which is considered to be adapted to local conditions. First: strength recovery. Including static squatting, each time about a minute; using a large towel pocket to toe and ankle for confrontation pulling, that is, hand pulling towel, foot stirring towel; second: balance and deep feeling recovery. You can perform water walking; balance exercises by standing on a narrow wooden bar with one foot; third: recovery of ligament elasticity. Extreme stretching of the ankle joint in all directions is performed; fourth: flexibility training. Lying on the bed, perform circular rotation exercises of the ankle joint. The above-mentioned exercises are self-imposed exercises, and they will be more effective when combined with the external application of Chinese medicine and physical therapy such as ultrashort wave. If you have better exercises, you can give me feedback so that more patients can benefit.
