How to treat GERD cough

Gastroesophageal reflux cough is usually treated by general treatment, medication and surgery. 1. General treatment: it is not recommended to lie down in bed immediately after meal, but can stand upright for 20-30 minutes; when sleeping, it is recommended to avoid lying down, and the head of the bed can be elevated 15-20 centimeters; usually, avoid eating spicy, stimulating, sweet and greasy food. 2. Pharmacological treatment: Give gastrointestinal stimulants such as domperidone and mosapride as prescribed by the doctor; give antacid medication such as aluminum hydroxide, calcium carbonate, magnesium aluminum carbonate, etc.; and give gastric mucosal protectants such as aluminum thioglycollate and prostaglandin. 3. Surgical treatment: For cases of esophageal stenosis and dysphagia, it is recommended to choose esophageal dilatation as prescribed by the doctor; in case of perforation or severe esophageal stenosis, esophagectomy should be chosen as the treatment.
