Wai Lau Kung point is located on the back of the hand between the second and third metacarpal bones, 0.5 inches behind the metacarpophalangeal joints in the depression (in the depression at the junction of the index finger and the middle finger). Wai Lau Kung point has the effect of relaxing the tendons and activating the channels (stretching the tendons and bones, dredging the meridians and channels), regulating the qi and neutralizing the middle (regulating the qi of the spleen and stomach, so as to make the functions of the spleen and stomach smooth). It is mainly used for treating redness and swelling of the back of the hand, numbness of the fingers or unfavorable flexion and extension of the fingers in stroke, falling pillow, cervical spine discomfort and so on. Generally, 0.5-0.8 inches of this point can be punctured straight, and there will be localized soreness and distension when needling, and sometimes there is numbness and tingling sensation at the fingertips. In addition to acupuncture, you can also moxibustion of this point, often take moxa cones 1 to 3 strong moxibustion or moxa moxibustion 3-5 minutes. When moxibustion should be careful to avoid burns, broken skin or skin diseases should avoid moxibustion. It is not recommended that patients operate this point on their own.
