What are immune diseases?

The 69-year-old Uncle Tao has run to several hospitals over the past five years, seeking medical help from all over the world, but he could not find out what was wrong with him. Two days ago, Ningbo City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine rheumatologist Wang Jun took the serum report just brought back from Beijing and happily told Uncle Tao that the cause was found! According to the serum test results, Mr. Tao was suffering from a disease called IgG4-related disease, which is a chronic disease of the immune system and is very rare. This disease has tormented the family of Uncle Tao. Five years ago, the uncle felt uncomfortable stomach, to the hospital for examination, was suspected of pancreatitis, the film showed a “pancreatic head mass”, the family thought it was a tumor, the heart was carried up. After the surgery to remove the mass, the doctor made a pathological section and found that it was not a tumor. However, soon after, Tao’s body had problems again, urinating a lot and going to the toilet constantly. When he went to the hospital, he was diagnosed with “retroperitoneal fibrosis”, which led to ureteral obstruction. He underwent two more ureteral dilatations. One wave was not over yet, but another wave started, and then Uncle Tao developed dry mouth symptoms, cracked lips, difficulty swallowing meals, and dry eyes. This time, Uncle Tao was diagnosed as “dry syndrome”. But the effect of symptomatic treatment has not been obvious. What distressed Uncle Tao even more was that two small lumps inexplicably grew on both sides of his chin, which later grew to the size of an egg. In April this year, after moving around a number of hospitals, Taobao wanted to try his luck at Ningbo City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, but the experts consulted many times and could not say what the problem was. Wang Jun, an attending physician at the rheumatology department of Ningbo Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, attended the consultation with Uncle Tao at that time. He repeatedly studied Uncle Tao’s medical records and found that some symptoms seemed unrelated, but something seemed to be wrong with an important system, which system could it be? After 3 days of searching for information, he found that his symptoms were very similar to Mikulicz disease, but the book only described the symptoms, but did not mention the treatment. Wang Jun then searched the Internet for symptoms of Mikulicz disease and Uncle Tao’s symptoms one by one. In October this year, Wang Jun attended the annual rheumatism conference held by the Ningbo Medical Association, and a specialist from Ningbo Second Hospital mentioned this disease during his lecture. A doctor at Li Huili Hospital who had just returned from a training course at Peking Union Medical College Hospital said, “This disease has been found in Beijing, in many cases, and the experts there are very familiar with it.” Wang Jun immediately contacted Uncle Tao and drew the serum and asked his peers to bring it to Beijing for testing. on November 2, the report showed that the level of lgG4 in Uncle Tao’s serum was 2860mg/L, significantly higher than the high limit of the normal value of 1350mg/L, and the diagnosis could already be confirmed! It is reported that this is the first case of IgG4-related disease diagnosed in Ningbo. Immune system diseases are closely related to poor lifestyle A person’s good health is directly related to his or her autoimmunity. A problem with the immune system can be fatal in serious cases. ”Scientists have been studying what causes the immune system to go wrong and have yet to find a clear answer, except for individual ones such as gout and rheumatic fever for which there are relatively clear pathogenic factors, but others have yet to identify the cause.” With the specific cause still unclear, it is more important to focus on the causative factors to avoid deepening and aggravating the degree of the disease. The causative factors of immune system diseases are directly or indirectly related to abnormal lifestyles, such as staying up late, eating inordinately, smoking, drinking, and chronic mental tension and stress. An unhealthy lifestyle can lead to a decrease in the body’s resistance and fatigue can cause secondary infections. What diseases can occur when the immune system goes wrong? The two largest organs in charge of immune function are the liver and spleen, followed by the thymus, and the most distributed immune organ in the body is the lymph node. Once a pathogen enters a part of the body, such as a cut finger, the T-lymphocytes released from the lymph nodes will rush up and surround it until it is killed. The immune system is like a large force that defends the body and kills pathogens that invade the body. When there is a problem with the immune system, it is like soldiers losing their judgment and killing each other in the body, destroying their own immunity. What diseases can the immune system cause? The whole body can get diseases. There are three main categories: immunodeficiency diseases, such as recurrent colds, hepatitis, tumors, etc.; allergic reactions, such as rashes, abdominal pain, etc.; and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus, muscle atrophy, etc. The better the body is, the more serious the disease is once it gets sick. In the immune war in the body, the more the immune mechanism is involved, the more damage it does to the organism. For example, it is like a playground with 100 soldiers on one side and 100 enemies on the other side, both sides throwing bombs and digging mines, the longer they fight on the playground, the more the playground will be destroyed. For example, hepatitis is divided into acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis and fulminant hepatitis. Fulminant hepatitis has a high mortality rate and a short survival time because the immune system is engaged in a very intense fight in the body, so fulminant hepatitis occurs in young people who are rich and have a strong immune system. If acute hepatitis is not treated thoroughly, it is like the enemy and us entering a tug-of-war, in a state of relative equilibrium, and it becomes chronic hepatitis. Likewise, when elderly people suffer from lupus erythematosus, their condition is not as serious as that of young people because their immunity is already very low and their organs are much less damaged by the “war”. This is the reason why people who have never been sick are more serious than the average person when they get sick.
