Zinc deficiency is not necessarily a cause of barbules in children’s hands, and should not be judged as such. A deficiency of trace elements is one of the causes of barbels. In this case, the child may be given an appropriate amount of vitamin C and attention should be paid to the intake of trace elements in the child’s life. It is also recommended to take care of your child’s hands because they are too rough and have dead skin. If a child has barbs on the hands and also has a loss of appetite or yellowing of the skin, zinc deficiency may be the cause and the child should be given zinc supplements. Parents are advised to keep an eye on their children’s health and not to make their own judgments when barbels appear on the hands, but to consult a pediatric dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment.
