The difference between spillage and vomiting in newborns

The newborn’s stomach is horizontal and the sphincter is relatively looser than the pylorus, so spillage is likely to occur after a full meal and moving position. When caring for your baby, you should change the diaper before feeding, avoid swallowing air when feeding, hold your baby vertically and pat his back for a few minutes after feeding to make the air burp out and then put him to sleep on his right side, and elevate his upper body (slope position) if necessary. Vomiting is different from overflowing milk, it can be general vomiting, or jet vomiting, even from the nostrils, and the amount is high. The problem is complicated by the fact that vomiting does not always occur after a full meal. It should be distinguished mainly by the way of vomiting, the color and amount of vomit, the time of vomiting, the abdominal signs and the stool condition.
