Eat light food for headache, such as celery, cabbage, apples, etc., and follow the doctor’s instructions to take oral medication to treat the cause of the disease, such as ibuprofen for migraine. 1. During a headache attack, patients are advised to eat a light diet with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. Vegetables include celery, cabbage, oilseed rape, cucumber and so on; fruits include apple, kiwi, watermelon, orange and so on. Vegetables and fruits are rich in vitamin C, trace elements, etc. to supplement nutrition. Avoid spicy and stimulating foods, such as chili peppers, garlic, mustard and so on. Migraine sufferers should also be cautious of foods containing caffeine, such as cola, chocolate, etc.; cheese containing tyrosine; snacks containing monosodium glutamate; and pickled foods containing nitrite. 2. Oral medication to treat the cause. Take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen and diclofenac sodium orally during a migraine attack. When the pain is severe, zolmitriptan and sumatriptan can be used to relieve pain. 3. Surgery is preferred for headaches caused by intracranial tumors. 4. Headache caused by high blood pressure should follow the doctor’s advice to take antihypertensive drugs, such as amlodipine benzenesulfonate, timosartan and so on. If persistent headache occurs, it should be examined and treated in hospital.
