Differential Diagnosis of Abdominal Fluid

Differential diagnosis of peritoneal effusion mainly includes leaky peritoneal effusion and exudative peritoneal effusion. 1. Leaky peritoneal effusion: usually non-inflammatory factors, due to plasma albumin reduction and other plasma colloid osmotic pressure drop, lymphatic obstruction and other triggers, can be seen in cirrhosis, malnutrition, heart failure, tumors and other diseases. Laboratory results of peritoneal fluid are usually low in protein and cell counts, generally not easily coagulated, and are usually transparent or yellowish in color. 2. Exudative peritoneal effusion: may be tuberculous peritonitis and other inflammatory factors triggered by increased permeability of the blood vessel wall; may also be due to systemic lupus erythematosus, malignant tumors and other diseases caused by plasma cell components exudate and cause. Abdominal fluid is usually characterized by high protein and white blood cell counts, coagulates easily, and is usually bloody or purulent.
