Can varicocele get worse?

Varicocele does not necessarily get worse, but is related to its cause, the patient’s physical condition, the effectiveness of timely intervention, and other factors, the specific situation varies from person to person, diagnosis and treatment must be in accordance with the doctor’s instructions.
1. If the varicocele is caused by abdominal tumors, developmental abnormalities, or other difficult-to-treat causes, and the patient’s underlying condition is poor, and the treatment is not timely or standardized, there is a higher risk of continued aggravation of the condition, and it may even lead to testicular atrophy, male infertility, and other complications.
2. Less likely to aggravate: If varicocele is caused by factors that are easier to intervene, such as standing for a long time and venous valvular insufficiency, and if the patient’s physical condition is good before the disease, and if the treatment is timely and effective, then the prognosis is generally good, and the risk of continuous aggravation of the disease is low.
Diagnosed varicocele must be treated in a timely manner under the guidance of a doctor in order to alleviate the symptoms and control the progression of the disease as soon as possible, and must not be blindly disposed of on their own, so as not to intervene inappropriately, resulting in the condition of the disease to remain untreated.
