How to combine honeysuckle with boiled water

Honeysuckle is used in water decoction when appropriate for the condition, such as the treatment of external wind-heat, often combined with forsythia, burdock, mint and so on.
Honeysuckle’s medicinal properties are sweet and cold, and its effects can clear heat, detoxify, and cool and disperse wind-heat. Clinically, honeysuckle has a therapeutic effect on wind-heat colds, carbuncles, laryngeal paralysis (redness, swelling and pain in the pharynx, or dryness, foreign body sensation, or itchy pharynx, discomfort, and difficulty swallowing), and it can also be used to treat fevers of warm illnesses.
When treating exogenous wind-heat, it can be combined with forsythia, burdock and mint; honeysuckle treats feverish drenching (burning and stinging pain is obvious when urinating, accompanied by frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort from traction in the lower abdomen), and it is often paired with Haijinsha Vine, Jinzhuazi Root, and Baimao Root, and taken by decoction with water.
Adverse effects of honeysuckle is not clear; spleen and stomach cold patients are prohibited, qi deficiency sores pus clear patients should not be used.
