Do tumors with peritoneal metastases have a high cure rate

Cure is difficult and prognosis is poor after tumor combined with peritoneal metastasis.

Peritoneal metastasis is a common site of distant metastasis of digestive system and genitourinary system tumors, which is caused by peritoneal metastasis of cancer cells through blood route, mostly metastasis of malignant tumors of liver, stomach, colon, pancreas, ovary and uterus in the abdominal cavity.

Peritoneal metastasis is usually a manifestation of distant metastasis of cancer, which suggests that the patient’s condition has already entered the advanced stage, and usually develops rapidly, with poor prognosis and great difficulty in treatment.

Patients with combined peritoneal metastasis are difficult to remove the tumor by surgery and usually have lost the chance of surgical resection; however, for patients with isolated metastasis, some of them can be treated by surgical resection, but still have the risk of recurrence and progression.

If combined peritoneal metastasis is suspected or diagnosed, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for a comprehensive assessment of the condition, follow the doctor’s instructions to cooperate with the treatment, and choose the appropriate treatment plan to improve the patient’s prognosis and prolong the survival period, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
