Facial palsy is a common condition, and the symptoms of facial palsy are introduced as follows 1. Transient eye movements: observe the patient’s transient eye situation carefully, and the symptoms of facial palsy can be seen asymmetrical transient eye movements bilaterally, and this phenomenon is of greater significance. If the patient is asked to do transient eye movement, the transient eye movement is slow and incomplete on the mildly paralyzed side. 2. Eyelash sign: Ask the patient to forcefully close the eyes. In normal people, when the eyes are forcefully closed, the eyelashes are mostly buried in the upper and lower eyelids. When the facial nerve is paralyzed, the eyelashes are exposed, especially in the case of mild paralysis, when the eyes are closed strongly, the asymmetry of the eyelashes is not obvious at first, but after a short time, the eyelashes on the mildly paralyzed side are slowly revealed, which is called the positive eyelash sign. 3. Eyelid tremor: When the eyes are strongly closed and the examiner plates the closed upper lid, a subtle muscle contracture tremor is felt on one side of the upper lid, but not on the other. The presence of this phenomenon indicates a mild facial nerve palsy, and peripheral facial nerve palsy is common. 4. Oblique oval mouth sign: The patient is instructed to open the mouth wide. In mild facial nerve palsy, the corner of the affected side of the mouth drops down in an oblique oval-shaped mouth. The difference with the oblique oval-shaped mouth of trigeminal nerve motor branch palsy is the absence of mandibular deviation. In central facial nerve palsy, this sign is not obvious, which is also a symptom of facial palsy.
