Clinical application of breast duct endoscopy

  (1) It solves the problem that lesions in the milk duct can only be diagnosed indirectly but not visually, and opens up a new diagnostic pathway for the characterization of lesions in the milk duct.  (2) It solves the problem of localization of lesions in the milk ducts, making it possible to narrow the scope of surgery for the vast majority of patients who need surgery.  (3) Modified some of the indications for surgery for breast diseases, allowing some patients to avoid unnecessary surgery. Patients with intraductal inflammation, cumulus cysts and breast pain can be treated by intraductal irrigation, thus eliminating the need for surgery; patients with benign intraductal lesions can have their surgical scope reduced; and patients with early malignant tumors can be detected and treated in a timely manner, opting for radical breast cancer surgery with preservation of the breast.
