What’s going on at the bottom of the gallbladder that’s 3mm thick at the most?

A maximum thickness of 3mm at the base of the gallbladder suggests that the gallbladder wall at the base of the gallbladder can be up to 3mm thick.
A gallbladder wall thickness of 1 to 2mm is normal, whereas thickening of the gallbladder wall may occur in disease conditions, usually acute cholecystitis caused by gallstones, non-calculous cholecystitis, and gallbladder polyps. The thickness of the gallbladder wall can be roughly determined by gallbladder ultrasound.
If the thickness of the gallbladder wall is ≥3 mm, the cause needs to be investigated. If it is caused by inflammation, active anti-infection treatment is needed. If it is caused by adenomyosis of the gallbladder, surgical treatment is needed. If it is caused by malignant tumor of gallbladder, radical surgery is also needed to treat.
Finally, patients are advised to eat a light and regular diet to avoid gallbladder disease.
