What causes pain on the inside of the elbow

The causes of medial elbow pain may be medial epicondylitis of the humerus, fracture of the medial epicondyle of the humerus or osteoarthritis of the elbow. 1. Epicondylitis of the humerus: the stopping point of the tendons of the forearm flexor and pronator teres is located at the medial epicondyle of the humerus. When long-term chronic strain or acute injury causes aseptic inflammatory reaction at the stopping point, it can lead to epicondylitis of the humerus and show medial elbow joint pain. MRI of the elbow joint can assist in the diagnosis. 2. Fracture of the medial epicondyle of the humerus: when traumatic fracture causes fracture of the medial epicondyle of the humerus, it can show symptoms such as active pain on the medial side of the elbow joint, localized compression pain, and swelling of the elbow joint. X-ray or CT examination of the elbow joint can be diagnosed. 3. Osteoarthritis of the elbow: With the degeneration of the elbow joint, osteoarthritis of the elbow joint can occur, which can be manifested as pain in mobility of the elbow joint medially or laterally or even in the whole elbow joint, and impaired mobility of the joint. Generally, X-ray or CT examination of the elbow joint can assist in the diagnosis. Elbow pain on the inside of the elbow joint can also be caused by elbow tube syndrome, muscle strain, and so on. If the symptoms do not improve after rest, you need to actively seek medical advice and follow the doctor’s instructions for reasonable treatment.
