It is generally used for infants and children with internal stagnation of milk and food, which can be seen as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, crying, poor appetite, constipation, etc.; middle-aged and old people with stagnation of qi and accumulation of food, which can be seen as abdominal distension, abdominal pain, constipation; and after abdominal surgery to promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function. Therefore, the Chinese medicine “Si Mo Tang” can be used for the treatment of internal stagnation of milk and food in newborns. This is also a kind of Chinese patent medicine commonly used in pediatrics to treat infants and young children with indigestion and gastric power deficiencies that lead to internal stagnation of milk and food. Before using the medicine, you should pay attention to observe whether the newborn has recurrent episodes of postprandial fullness, whether the abdomen is bulging and harder than usual, whether there is a decrease in appetite or anorexia, whether the stool is normal, or whether there are undigested milk flaps in the stool, constipation, etc. If it can be determined that it is indigestion, it can be used.
