The patient’s eye orbital and temple pain and want to vomit, may be high blood pressure, temporal arteritis, glaucoma and other causes.
1. Hypertension: When the patient’s blood pressure rises suddenly and sharply (usually above 180/110mmHg) due to emotional excitement and other triggers, the pressure on the inner walls of the retinal arteries at the bottom of the eye and the arteries in the frontotemporal region increases, and the vascular pulsation increases, resulting in pain and swelling in the temples, nausea, dizziness and other discomforts.
2. Temporal arteritis: temporal arteritis is also known as “giant cell arteritis”, the cause of which has not been clarified yet. Patients with temporal arteries have a large number of inflammatory substances such as T-cells deposited in the elastic lining of the temporal arteries, which results in tension pain in the temporal region of one or both sides, and the superficial temporal arteries that are pulsating under the scalp can be touched, and the pain can be radiated to the orbital area or occiput when the pain is severe.
3. Glaucoma: In acute attack of glaucoma, the patient’s intraocular pressure rises, and severe eye pain, headache, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting and other discomforts may occur.
It is recommended that patients with significant symptoms of orbital pain, nausea and other discomforts should consult a doctor promptly to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
