Protrusion of the clavicular head is mainly seen for the following reasons: First, in cases of subluxation or dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint after trauma, a significant protrusion of the clavicular head is seen, and there is significant pressure pain when pressing on it, and it leads to partial limitation of the function of the acromioclavicular joint. Second, in patients with distal clavicle fractures, there will be a protrusion of the clavicle head, and there will be significant bruising, swelling, and pain in the clavicle head. Third, in patients with acromioclavicular arthritis, it is related to strain degeneration, which leads to hypertrophy and osteophytes in the ligaments of the clavicular head, which can lead to the protrusion of the clavicular head.
