What are the symptoms of bile duct cancer?

  1.Jaundice: Early stage of cholangiocarcinoma patients lack typical symptoms, most of them visit the doctor because of jaundice, which is the earliest and most important symptom of cholangiocarcinoma. Jaundice is characterized by progressive aggravation and deepening, and is mostly painless, while a few patients have fluctuating jaundice. Progressive obstructive jaundice is the main symptom of extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.  2.Abdominal pain: right upper abdominal pain and distension or fever, weight loss, loss of appetite and other symptoms.  3.Itchy skin: It may appear before or after the appearance of jaundice, and may also be accompanied by other symptoms such as tachycardia, bleeding tendency, mental atrophy, weakness and fatty diarrhea, abdominal distension, etc. The itchy skin is caused by the increase of bilirubin content in blood, which stimulates the peripheral nerves of skin.  4.Other symptoms: Jaundice, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, emaciation, dark yellow urine like soy sauce or tea, light yellow stool or even clay color, etc. In advanced stage of tumor rupture, biliary bleeding may occur, black stool, positive stool occult blood test, or even anemia; liver metastasis, liver enlargement, liver cirrhosis, splenomegaly and ascites, etc.
