Ways to improve night sweats

Improvement of night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep and stopping sweating after waking up) can be identified by taking traditional Chinese medicine and improving diet. Night sweating, also known as bedtime sweating, refers to sweating during sleep and stopping after waking up, which is mostly seen in deficiency labor, with Yin deficiency being the most common. Yin deficiency (deficiency of yin essence in the body, resulting in hyperactive fire) is characterized by night sweating, heat in the heart (heat in the hearts of the hands and feet, and self-consciousness of heat in the heart and chest), or hot flashes in the afternoon (a burst of heat), redness in the cheekbones, and thirst. The treatment of this condition is to nourish the yin and lower the fire with angelica liuhuang tang (nourish the yin essence and lower the fire). People with insufficient blood in the heart (insufficient blood in the heart) show sweating when they sleep, which stops when they wake up, palpitations (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), palpitation (violent heartbeat, panic and restlessness), insomnia and dreaminess, fatigue (lack of mental energy), shortness of breath, and a less florid complexion. The treatment is to tonify and nourish the heart’s blood with Gui Spleen Soup. In addition to taking medication, patients with night sweating can consume ingredients such as umeboshi, lily of the valley and maitong on a daily basis. If there is any related condition, it is recommended to treat it under the guidance of a professional physician, rather than blindly using medication on one’s own.
