Strongly echogenic plaque is generally the term used in ultrasound to describe vascular plaque, which refers to hardened plaques that appear on the walls of arterial blood vessels. There are many causes of echogenic plaques, and common risk factors include hyperlipidemia, obesity, smoking, alcoholism, etc., which can easily cause damage to the arterial endothelial cells and thickening of the inner and middle membranes of the arteries, leading to atherosclerosis, and the gradual formation of sclerotic plaques on the walls of the blood vessels. When doing ultrasound examination, there will be a strong echo plaque on the inner wall of the blood vessel. When the plaque is large and numerous, it will cause narrowing of the lumen of the blood vessel and insufficient blood supply. Some plaques are small, and the adhesion of the wall is not strong, it is easy to fall off to form embolism, with the blood to the corresponding organs will appear cerebral infarction, pulmonary infarction and other diseases, the consequences are more serious. Sclerotic plaques can be treated with atorvastatin and other lipid-regulating drugs under the guidance of a doctor, and in daily life, we should pay attention to low-salt and low-fat diet, and strengthen sports and exercise, in order to prevent its occurrence fundamentally.
