One kind of eyelid jumping is caused by facial muscle spasm, which is unilateral in the vast majority of cases and rarely bilateral. Patients with facial muscle spasm usually start with eyelid jumping, and after a few months or a year, their mouths start twitching, and to a certain extent, they cannot open their eyes and their mouths are tilted to the side. At the same time, the patient has difficulty seeing and is under great psychological stress. Physiological eyelid twitching is generally mild, and if it is overworked, it will get better after rest, and even if there is inflammation and other causes, they can all be relieved by treatment. In contrast, the cause of eyelid jumping after facial muscle spasm is in the brain, it is very difficult to heal itself, and the trend is progressive aggravation.
