Children’s fever 40 degrees how long brain burn

A fever of 40°C in children does not necessarily burn the brain, only the central nerves and brain cells are infected with symptoms of convulsions, which may lead to brain damage within 15 minutes. Children with meningitis and encephalitis have a fever of 40°C. At this point, if they are not treated promptly, the chances of brain damage are relatively high. However, if the fever is only 40 degrees Celsius, but no central nervous system infection has occurred, effective cooling and symptomatic treatment will not usually result in brain damage. When a child has a fever, parents should take appropriate physical cooling. If the temperature is above 38°C or even 40°C, parents should give the child fever-reducing medication under the guidance of a doctor or go to a pediatrician for symptomatic treatment. In addition, during the treatment of fever, parents should let their children drink more warm water and pay attention to a light diet, not to eat spicy and stimulating food.
