For ground glass nodules in the lungs with a diameter of 6 mm, follow-up review is generally recommended once after 3 months and then annually for at least 3 years. Lung nodules are solid or subsolid nodules that appear on imaging as focal, round-like, increased density, where subsolid nodules are subdivided into partially solid and pure ground-glass nodules. Depending on the nature of the nodules, they can be categorized into benign and malignant nodules. For some nodules, the nature of which is unknown, regular follow-up is needed to check the size of the nodule by chest CT or X-ray. According to the Chinese expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of lung nodules, for isolated pure ground-glass density nodules with a diameter greater than 5 mm, it is recommended that imaging follow-up be performed after 3 months, and if there is no change, then annual follow-up should be performed. Biopsy or surgical resection needs to be considered if multiplication is significant in the short term or if the diameter is greater than 10 mm. For ground-glass nodules with a diameter of 6 mm in the lungs, it is recommended to seek medical attention and standardize treatment with regular follow-up under the supervision of a physician.
