How to Correct Knee Convexity

Convex knees can be caused by obesity, low muscle mass and “X” shaped legs. Different causes lead to different treatments. Common treatments include general treatment and surgery. 1. Obesity: it will lead to the accumulation of fat in the inner side of the knee, forming a meat bag, leading to the knee convex; commonly used to correct the method of pulling the lead: sitting in a flat place, the two legs as far as possible together and flat, in the left and right ankle tethered to a 50 cm long rubber band, and then the two feet force to pull the lead to the outside of the 70 ~ 100 cm and then relax and restore. Repeat 20~30 times. 2. Low muscle content: This will cause the inner femur to bulge out and form an inwardly convex knee. It is often corrected with the help of foam shaft: lie on the side as the starting position, the foam shaft is slightly lower than the pelvis, then gradually roll towards the knee, find the most painful point and keep it to do a small range of rolling and relaxation, until the discomfort is reduced. 3. “X”-shaped legs: patients can try to stand with their feet together, the body slightly forward, half squatting, both knees turned outward with force, and at the same time, hands outward pressure on the inside of the knees for 5~10 seconds, then stand up to restore and relax, repeat 20~30 times. It can also be treated by minimally invasive surgery, transplanting your own fat to the needed area for filling and correcting X-shaped legs. Other causes of knee convexity include bone dysplasia, muscle imbalance, etc. Patients with knee convexity are advised to go to the hospital for timely examination and standardized treatment according to the doctor’s instructions. At the same time, we should pay attention to the habit of knee placement in life, improve the bad sitting posture.
