Can ALT/AST changes be pancreatic cancer?

ALT/AST changes are not necessarily pancreatic cancer. ALT refers to alanine aminotransferase. Elevated ALT is usually due to hepatitis, cirrhosis, alcoholic liver, fatty liver, etc. and is a sign of liver cell damage. AST refers to alanine aminotransferase. Elevated AST can be caused by hepatitis, but also by myocarditis and other causes. Liver metastasis can occur in the advanced stage of pancreatic cancer, and liver metastasis may cause damage to liver tissues, which can lead to abnormal liver function. Therefore, ALT/AST changes are seen in many diseases. Pancreatic cancer cannot be determined by these two test results alone. It is recommended that patients go to regular hospitals to get a clear diagnosis so as not to delay their condition.
