Cefaclor dry suspension dosage for children

  The specification of Cefaclor dry suspension is 0.125g/bag and the dosage for children is 20mg/kg per day, based on the child’s body weight, taken every 8 hours with water. The dosage for the treatment of bronchitis and pneumonia in children is 20mg/kg per day, every 8 hours. In more severe infections (otitis media) and infections caused by less sensitive bacteria, the daily dose can be increased to 40mg/kg, with a maximum amount of 1g/day, taken every 8 hours.  Cefaclor inhibits both gram-negative and positive bacteria and can treat inflammation caused by a variety of bacteria: otitis media, upper respiratory tract infection, lower respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, skin tissue infection, sinusitis, etc.  It is important to note that patients with allergy to cephalosporins should not take Cefaclor. Allergic reactions can occur after taking cefaclor dry mix: urticaria-like rash; gastrointestinal syndrome: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting; liver side effects; central nervous system side effects: hypersensitivity, insomnia, confusion, hypertension, dizziness. Follow the dosage in the instruction manual or doctor’s recommendation when taking the drug and never overdose. Toxicity syndromes that occur after taking an overdose of cefaclor include: nausea, vomiting, epigastric discomfort and diarrhea.  Cefaclor is an antibiotic and should always be used under the guidance of a doctor and not by choice.
