High alanine aminotransferase may be caused by physiological reasons, liver disease, heart disease, and can be treated with life modification, medication or surgery.
1. Physiological reasons: alanine aminotransferase is mainly found in the liver, heart and other organs, and is one of the liver function tests. Triggers such as staying up late and being tired may lead to a transient increase in alanine aminotransferase, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. You can relax your mood, don’t drink alcohol, eat less greasy food, and ensure enough sleep. After removing the triggers, the symptoms can generally return to normal, and most of them do not need special treatment.
2. Liver diseases: Destruction of liver cells caused by viral hepatitis and liver cancer can increase alanine aminotransferase, which can be relieved by liver-protecting drugs such as diammonium glycyrrhizinate; patients with viral hepatitis also need to use antiviral drugs such as entecavir; hepatocellular carcinoma can be treated by tumor resection or hepatectomy.
3. Heart disease: viral myocarditis, myocardial infarction and other diseases may induce hepatic stasis and lead to the elevation of alanine aminotransferase. Viral myocarditis patients can use coenzyme q10, nitroglycerin and other drugs to improve myocardial nutrition, myocardial ischemia; myocardial infarction patients can use thrombolytic drugs such as urokinase, and in severe cases, percutaneous coronary intervention can also be used.
Elevated alanine aminotransferase may also be caused by other reasons, it is recommended to go to the hospital to check the electrocardiogram, cardiac ultrasound, liver ultrasound and other items under the guidance of the doctor, do not recommend self-medication.
