Heat acne is characterized by redness, swelling, heat and pain. Acne belongs to the category of “pimples” in Chinese medicine, and there are three types of acne: wind-heat through the lungs, phlegm-dampness stagnation, and damp-heat in the stomach and intestines. Acne vulgaris should include both gastrointestinal damp-heat syndrome and pulmonary wind-heat syndrome.
1. Damp-heat syndrome of the stomach and intestines is often characterized by greasy skin on the chest and back or face, pustules, red, swollen and painful rashes, accompanied by bad breath, yellow and red urine and constipation.
2. Wind-heat syndrome of the lung meridian, pustules may appear, the rash is red in color and may be accompanied by pain and itching. Thirst, short and red urine (small amount of urine, dark yellow in color), and constipation are often present.
After the appearance of acne, one should go to a regular medical institution in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment and medication to avoid delaying the condition.
