How long does it take to have a baby when the water breaks and the stomach doesn’t hurt?

After premature rupture of membranes, the time of delivery of the fetus cannot be determined. In the case of a full-term baby with ruptured membranes, early termination of pregnancy is recommended. Premature rupture of membranes in a full-term baby is a sign of impending labor. After rupture of membranes, the amniotic fluid is connected to the outside world and is prone to infection. If regular contractions do not occur within 12 hours after premature rupture of membranes, oxytocin can be used to promote contractions and facilitate the delivery of the fetus. If premature rupture of membranes occurs in a less than term fetus, fetal preservation treatment can be taken according to the gestational week as well as the specific conditions of the mother to promote fetal lung maturation, and the pregnancy can be terminated when the fetal lung is mature. During the course of fetal preservation, care should be taken to prevent infection. If symptoms such as fever and lower abdominal pain occur during fetal preservation, it may be due to intrauterine infection and the pregnancy should be terminated as soon as possible. Therefore, if the fetal membranes cannot be delivered for a long time after premature rupture, intrauterine infection, intrauterine hypoxia and other risks may occur, and even fetal death in the uterus may endanger the life of mother and baby, so the pregnancy should be terminated at an appropriate time.
