Salt water is effective in treating hemorrhoids, mainly by choosing warm salt water at a temperature of about forty-two degrees Celsius. After a sitz bath, the nucleus of the hemorrhoid can gradually shrink and recede, and the painful symptoms can be gradually reduced in mild cases. For inflammatory external hemorrhoids and connective tissue external hemorrhoids, sitz baths can reduce the condition of the hemorrhoids and also reduce the chance of local infection. For internal hemorrhoids, the sitz bath method is not particularly effective and can be combined with the application of hemorrhoid cream for treatment. For severe hemorrhoids that do not show a significant trend of improvement after conservative treatment, surgical treatment is an option if necessary, and the application of warm salt water sitz bath is also an option after surgery to promote the healing of the wound.
