The sequelae of ischemic-hypoxic encephalopathy can be cerebral palsy combined with epilepsy. Epilepsy medications are mostly drugs that inhibit neuronal excitation and can hinder neuronal development, while treatment of cerebral palsy requires accelerated neuronal development. The conflict between the two is really difficult to balance. Some reports show that transcranial magnetic stimulation can treat epilepsy and also help cerebral palsy recovery, but it is definitely a challenge to design the parameters and select the site if the two diseases are combined. We are working on this topic and hope to have a breakthrough in the near future to solve a recognized problem for the majority of patients.
