Tofacitib, known as Tofacitib Citrate Tablets, has been shown to be effective in ankylosing spondylitis. Tofacitib citrate tablets are Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors with immunosuppressive effects. It is indicated for use in adult patients with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis in whom methotrexate is insufficiently effective or intolerable, in combination with methotrexate or other non-bio-enhancing anti-rheumatic agents. It may also be indicated in adult patients with active ankylosing spondylitis who have had an inadequate response to conventional therapy. Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory disease that primarily involves the spine, mid-axial skeleton, and large joints of the extremities and is characterized by fibrosis and ossification of the annulus fibrosus of the intervertebral discs and their adjacent connective tissues, as well as joint ankylosis. Strongly associated with the human leukocyte-associated antigen HLA-B27. Tofacitib citrate tablets have immunosuppressive effects and are effective in ankylosing spondylitis. Tofacitib citrate tablets may cause adverse reactions such as infection, malignancy, lymphoproliferative disorders, and gastrointestinal perforation. It needs to be contraindicated for those who are allergic to any of the components of this product.
