Alveolar bone loss can be treated with guided bone regeneration, bone grafting or distraction osteogenesis depending on the size and location of the loss. 1. Guided bone regeneration. For horizontal or vertical bone deficiency in the oral cavity, guided bone regeneration can be used to guide the regeneration of bone tissue, using artificial bone and autologous bone blood mixed and placed in the bone defect site, covered with a barrier membrane to guide the regeneration of bone. 2. Bone grafting. If the alveolar bone loss is severe and difficult to be treated by guided bone regeneration, it can be restored by implanting a bone block. The autogenous bone block is fixed to the recipient area with titanium nails. 3. Traction osteogenesis. In severe cases of alveolar bone loss, distraction osteogenesis can also be performed to create bone, using a bone retractor to guide the regeneration of bone tissue. Alveolar bone loss will affect the oral prosthesis repair, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination and take appropriate measures.
