What does chronic non-atrophic gastric sinusitis mean?

Chronic non-atrophic gastritis, i.e., chronic superficial gastritis, is an inflammatory disease of the gastric mucosa that occurs in the gastric sinus and is not accompanied by atrophic changes in the gastric mucosa.
Chronic gastritis can be divided into non-atrophic (superficial) gastritis, atrophic gastritis and special types of gastritis according to endoscopic findings, and further subdivided into sinusitis, gastric body inflammation and total gastritis according to the location of the lesions.
The main pathological manifestations of chronic non-atrophic gastric sinusitis are: congestion, edema, erosion, and bleeding of the mucosa surrounding the gastric sinus.
Most patients with chronic non-atrophic gastric sinusitis may not have any symptoms, while some patients may show symptoms of dyspepsia such as epigastric pain or discomfort, epigastric distension, early satiety, belching and nausea.
In terms of treatment, for patients without obvious clinical symptoms, we can guide them to adjust their dietary habits without drug intervention. However, for patients with clinical symptoms such as abdominal pain and acid reflux, symptomatic treatment, including anti-Helicobacter pylori, protection of gastric mucosa, acid suppression, etc., is the mainstay of treatment. Commonly used drugs such as omeprazole, bismuth potassium citrate, amoxicillin, clarithromycin and so on. However, the condition is prone to recurrence.
