A drug used to treat early basal cell skin cancer. It is also used to treat actinic keratosis (a skin condition that may become cancer) and genital warts. Imiquimod is also being studied in the treatment of other conditions and types of cancer. It may help the immune system kill abnormal cells, including cancer cells.
