Method of Acquiring Xiexi Acupuncture Point

The Xiexi point is located in the area where the lower leg meets the dorsum of the foot, in the depression between the tendons of the extensor digitorum longus and extensor hallucis longus.
Xiexi is an acupoint on the stomach meridian. Xiexi point is also known as the straw shoelace, and is found where you tie your shoes on a daily basis. The Xiexi point is located between the tendon of the extensor digitorum longus and the extensor hallucis longus, in the depression in the middle of the transverse stripe connecting the lower leg and the back of the foot, opposite the second toe.
Xiexi is a meridian point of the stomach meridian. It has the properties of clearing and lowering stomach heat, resolving phlegm and calming fright, and relaxing tendons and collaterals. It can be used to treat diseases related to this meridian, such as gastroenteritis, gastric distension and pain, and constipation. Localized ankle joint pain, sprains, lower limb impotence and other diseases can also be treated with Xie Xi acupoint.
