How old are epiphyseal closure

Most epiphyses in the human body close completely around the age of 23 to 25 years. Adolescent females usually close 1 to 2 years earlier than males.
The epiphysis is the cartilage between the epiphysis and the metaphysis. When the cartilage between the epiphysis and metaphysis is completely ossified, the epiphysis is said to be closed. Usually, epiphyseal closure refers to the closure of the long bones of the body after puberty. Generally speaking, after the first menstruation, the height growth rate of females will gradually slow down, and most of the epiphyses begin to close around the age of 14 to 18 years old, and reach the state of complete closure around the age of 23 years old.
In males, due to the influence of hormone levels, the development of puberty is 1~2 years later than that of females, so the epiphyses usually begin to close around 16 to 20 years old, and reach the state of complete closure around 25 years old.
Therefore, the age of epiphyseal closure varies according to gender, and is also affected by genetics, nutrition, exercise and other factors, so puberty should pay attention to maintain good sleep, participate in sports, timely supplementation of calcium, balanced nutritional structure, and the use of scientific methods to promote the body to grow taller.
