What is hemangiopericytoma?

Angioepithelial cell tumor is also known as angioepithelial cell tumor. It is a potentially malignant tumor with slow growth, benign but malignant manifestations, locally aggressive and recurrent, and distant lung, liver, and bone metastases may occur. Preoperative imaging is very close to meningioma, but there are several points to differentiate: 1. hemangioepithelial cell tumor with irregular morphology; 2. hemangioepithelial cell tumor with cystic changes; 3. more localized flow space and rich blood supply; 4. the meningeal tail sign is not obvious. Treatment is mainly surgical resection, but the prognosis is not good, and the tumor is prone to neurological recurrence and metastasis, or metastasis outside the central nervous system. Therefore, postoperative treatment is mostly supplemented with adjuvant radiotherapy.
