A sudden sensation of one or two beats in the chest is considered to be a premature attack, which may be atrial, junctional or ventricular. Many of them are caused by functional changes, such as mental stress, recent overexertion, smoking, alcohol consumption, and consumption of stimulating drinks such as strong tea and coffee. In case of pathological conditions, such as coronary artery disease, dilated cardiomyopathy, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, this similar condition can occur. In case of frequent episodes, it is recommended to improve the ambulatory electrocardiogram to clarify the frequency of premature beats for symptomatic management.
