Efficacy and effects of ginseng (Panax ginseng)

Little ginseng, i.e., Chinese yam, is used to stop the bandwagon and astringent, tonify the kidney, lung and spleen, and nourish yin and benefit the qi.
Yam is sweet and flat in nature. It belongs to the spleen, lung and kidney meridians. Its basic functions are to nourish the spleen and stomach, promote the production of body fluid, benefit the lungs, and nourish the kidneys and astringent essence. Fried yam can enhance the effect of tonifying the spleen and stopping diarrhea.
1. Stopping diarrhea and astringent essence, commonly used in treating dyspareunia, frequent urination and spermatorrhea, such as Jin Gui Ren Qi Wan.
2. Nourishing the kidney, lung and spleen, often used to treat lung deficiency, wheezing and coughing, often used in conjunction with Chinese medicinal herbs such as Salvia miltiorrhiza. It is also used to treat poor diet and loose diarrhea caused by spleen deficiency, such as Ginseng Ling Bai Zhu San.
3. Nourishing yin and benefiting qi, often used in the treatment of qi and yin deficiency, thirst and deficiency heat, can be used with astragalus, Zhimu, smallpox pollen and other drugs.
Yam is not suitable for people with stagnation or for those who are full of dampness in the middle.
